I am slowly moving my ≈100 demonstrations of visual phenomena away from Flash. I have found that Cappucino is really excellent for this. It is based totally on JavaScript, but places “Objective J” on top of it, which is like Objective C (which I like anyway), and they implemented a sizable part of Cocoa frameworks. So I can program in Cappucino nearly like on my Macs, with a pleasing GUI. And yesterday evening I finally managed to successfully use the “deploy” script in jake. I applied it to the 15 Cappucino-based, which consequently now load & run well on non-flash devices, e.g. iPads.
