An experience with the rapid dynamics of search engines
As I’ve mentioned before, my webhost messed up and my website was not available from Friday afternoon until very early Monday morning (returning “access denied”) https://michaelbach.de/ot .
What I found interesting (apart from receiving emails why my content was not available) is the following: When entering the search term “illusions”, my site usually comes out top. However, during Saturday this result vanished completely. I don’t really know how often Google bots traverse sites, so it may have been accidental in part. After the site was back up, it took about half a day to reappear in search results. The visitor count (see attached image) also rapidly crept back up to it usual 5000+ summer level (yes, in winter about twice, and fewer at weekends ;-)).
