BaLM stands for “Basic assessment of Light, Location & Motion perception”, designed to test ultra low vision, below “hand motion”, not accessible by FrACT. This is now incorporated in FrACT₁₀.
If you want to try it out in FrACT₁₀, best first go to Settings>PRESETS and select TestingBaLM for starting values.
The test parameters and strategy remain unchanged from those described in Bach M, Wilke M, Wilhelm B, Zrenner E, Wilke R (2010) . The Time test was left out due to its specificity to retinal implant devices and its lack of additional utility. Parameters can be adjusted in Settings>BaLM. Now is the time, however, where things can still be changed, e.g. the default settings.
